HOME STAGER

Decorus Properties DBA Decorus Home Staging

Decorus Home Staging is thriving and we are looking for a creative Stager in our Design Team.

This is a full-time position. We are looking for someone who is home staging career orientated, has a least 2 years of experience leading stages independently or an Interior Design Degree, and has a flair for modern design, and loves the world of home staging.

We know it's fun to look at the pretty stuff but your #1 focus is to take that pretty stuff and pull together a design to ensure superior staging is offered through your expert design skills for each house you are assigned. Education and/or experience in Interior Design or Staging is required and a deep love for customer service and design a must!

Look, We are biased — but we are pretty sure we are the coolest home staging place to work for, ever. We are BIG believers in work/life balance and while we work HARD, we make sure there is always time for you to play hard in your home time. We laugh a lot, eat plenty of treats and we always work as a team and have each other's back. No room for bad attitudes or negativity in our operation.

Our culture….

The work is fun, fresh, dynamic, and fast-paced. You will be part of the design team and work closely with our Design Manager in this dynamic Seattle home staging company. Each house is different and we need a big thinker (outside the box, preferred), dreamer, and doer!

We aren’t big on stress. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and get things done, we focus on open communication and getting things done right the first go around.

The hours are pretty set as we work during business hours. BUT we will get you home to your life and family at a decent time.

You will experience things, do things, and make decisions on things that no big stuffy company would ever allow you to do. We welcome vision and big ideas.

Now, let’s talk about the job requirements for our Seattle home staging position:

You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of creating beautiful interior spaces. Every day, you will bang out a stage, and do it all again tomorrow. You need to love being active and physical. This is not an HGTV stager, pointing to where things go. You will be moving totes, and staging props, and setting up the house along with an assistant and the logistics team. You will need excellent leadership skills, as the lead on the job, the buck will stop with you.

You will be on your feet most of the day, so you must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time. You should also be able to lift 40lbs unassisted.

You will be driving a Mercedes Sprinter Van, so a clean driving record is a must and you must feel confident driving a larger van.

You need to be a person who loves to deliver remarkable experiences to other people. You know, you need to be someone who feels good by making other people feel good. While this is a creative job, our main goal is to provide refined staging to assist in the marketing of a house for sale. Customer service to us is paramount. You will need to have thick skin and not take things personally. We know that we put our hearts and souls into our designs but we are here to serve the customer and sometimes changes will need to be made.

You need to nail down the details. You don’t need to race through work and get things done half-assed (we figured that one out ourselves). We need you to slow things down and get them done right.

The poop will hit the fan on occasion. We need YOU to not freak out but rather hand out the umbrellas and lead the team to a quick, efficient solution that won't disrupt the stage too much!

We want you to be meticulous in your work. If you are shy or quiet that is totally cool. But fair warning, our Design team is a lively group! We are not looking for the life of the party…in fact, quite the opposite. We are looking for a good, fun person, who gets stuff done.

In short, your job is to design beautiful stages and execute them. And to have fun at work (who wants a job that isn’t fun?!?).

Our office is casual, but we do expect professionalism and punctuality. When on customer sites, we do have a dress standard that must be adhered to.

But what we don’t expect perfection or necessarily existing staging skills for you to qualify for this job. We can teach you that. But you must have a great eye for design.

We expect intelligence, energy, and a get-it-done attitude. When you have questions, you will find the answers with a quick yell down across the warehouse to anyone else on our team.

If this is a job that gets you so excited that you would even do it for free, we would totally accept that offer from you. But if you prefer compensation (and we totally get it…we prefer getting paid as well) this is what we offer:

This is a full-time Stager job. The pay will range between $20 - $25 an hour, depending on experience and the hours will be 40hrs a week. You must come into our Kirkland, WA warehouse. (sorry, but this is not a virtual job).

In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detailed oriented and can follow procedures when you apply for this position in the subject line of the email you must include “I have found my type of peeps” in the subject line. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.

We are looking to bring our new colleague on board as soon as possible, but we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in abilities and culturally. One thing that will give you a BIG leg up (but is optional) is to send a quick video in along with your resume (in fact, everyone that works at Decorus made an effort to stand out from the crowd). In your video tell us why you think you’re perfect for this job and why you will rock this position. This is purely for us to get a sense of your personality. And if you decide not to send a video (that’s ok), please tell us why you chose not to send in a video.

We can’t wait to meet you!!!

You will need to be in constant contact with our staging and operations team, so great communication is a big deal.
